Lexie and I stood, staring at each other a little too long.
And then she broke the magic and hugged me.
Can’t say I wasn’t disappointed. I’d wanted a kiss. But Lexie didn’t feel that way about me. It was clear. I needed to get over her and move on. I was happy about our friendship, though, and would do everything to get even closer to her. I’d missed this.
After she’d forced me to buy a bunch of stuff at the men’s clothing store, I said, “Want to get some coffee? It’s getting freaking cold out here.”
Suddenly she stopped and made a face that prickled my hair under the wig.
Trailing my gaze to match hers, my mouth fell open. “Fuck,” I whispered.
“What the hell? Why is my face on top of the mall?” she yelled.
It was her face. Big and bold. No doubt she was going to hear about it on social media. Tsui was in a shitload of trouble now.
“Listen, Lexie, I’m sure Charlie didn’t think your pictures would be used for a huge company like Kavin Lein. You might want to talk to your agent.”
“Charlie?” she asked. “What the hell does Charlie have to do with it?”
Oh fuck. She didn’t know. I tried to backtrack, but she wasn’t going to let me off until I spilled.

Seething was an understatement after I heard what Charlie pulled. And under my nose. Without telling me! Not once!
I slammed the door when I got home.
“Hey, baby,” Charlie said. “Where have you been? I missed you. My mom and dad say hi. They want you to visit next time, too.”
Everything inside me sizzled, and I unleashed my fury. “Please tell me you weren’t the one who got me that modeling job.”
His eyes revealed all.
I glared. “Why? Why the FUCK couldn’t you be honest with me? You let me believe I got this job all on my own. That some rando stranger thought I was pretty and wanted to photograph me and pay me enough in six months what I’d make in six years at the animation studio. The dude said it was just for some minor catalogs. I must have rocks for brains. God, how could I be so stupid!”
Charlie tried to put his arms around me, but I swatted them off. “Don’t touch me. Just leave me the hell alone.”
I wanted to push past him, but he pulled my arm and said, “Let me explain. Please, Lexie.”
Taking me to the kitchen, I sat on the stool as he paced for a bit then settled down, inhaling slow, deep breaths. “I…was going to tell you. I was. But…would you have taken the job if you knew I’d pulled strings? Be honest.”
Fiddling with my fingers, my anger was replaced with sadness. This whole situation sucked. My famous boyfriend got me a job that paid so much for so little time. It seemed like the solution to my troubles. But he couldn’t be honest with me because he didn’t trust he could talk me into it.
Shaking my head, I said, “You didn’t even give me a chance, though, Charlie. I might have.”
“That’s not true and you know it. What about the visual artist job I’d gotten for you? You turned that down cold.”
“Because I don’t like to draw as much as I like to do 3-D models. God! If you have a good idea, I’ll listen to it. It might seem like I have an ego the size of San Myshuno, but I don’t. And it hurts that you feel the need to go behind my back to solve my problems. If you want my ass out of here, all you have to do is say the word. I’ll go live with my mom or dad and hide behind sunglasses and wigs. I don’t need a damn thing from you!”
“That’s not it and you know it. Where were you today? I saw James come in with his wig. Were you with him?”
I crossed my arms. “So what if I was? Don’t you trust me?”
“Don’t you get it, Lexie? I want you away from him.”
“You don’t trust me. Fine. I’ll leave asap and get out of your hair.”
“That’s not what I want at all.”
“Then what do you fucking want, Charlie? Because I will not have you lie to me.”
I got to my feet and tried to run away, but Charlie shot over and clung to me. “Baby, I’m sorry,” he whispered, his head rubbing my face. “I shouldn’t have lied. I love you so much. I don’t want you to leave.”
And like so many times before, all it took was his touch to bleed out every angry feeling, turning me into mush.
I loved Charlie. He was the bacon to my eggs. We belonged together. I just wished it didn’t seem like we were getting charred on the stove.
That night, Charlie showed me how much he loved me, telling me over and over how much he cared for me.
And he soothed me with his touch and his kisses.
Gazing at him, I knew he was all I’d wanted. Why should I have gotten so mad at him? He had a good reason not to tell me about the job. I could be a stubborn ass at times.
We made love with incredible passion that night. Make up sex was the best!
As I nestled into his arms afterwards, I decided this was how we’d be forever. He was my man. My dream guy. I knew that from the moment I saw him on stage.
I didn’t want anyone else.
I wished he understood that. He didn’t need to be jealous about my friendship with James.

I had a feeling Charlie might have been the one behind the modeling thing… ughhh I know his intentions were good, but he should have been honest. Lexie has had enough lies courtesy of James 😛
Charlie and Lexie are sweet together but I still keep getting the sense that they aren’t quite right for each other. They come from such different worlds and it feels like they don’t 100% understand each other the way a couple should… But time will tell whether that can change!
And James… poor James. 😦 Maybe there’s still hope for him… but Lexie is so smitten with Charlie! (Nice makeup sex there by the way hehe)

Charlie and Lexie do come from different worlds, but can they make it work? If they both try, maybe.

Lexie can be proud and stubborn, but that still doesn’t mean Charlie should go over her head to “do what’s best for her” or whatever he thought. Yeah, he was trying to help her out, and most girlfriends would probably be happy if their boyfriends helped them get good jobs, but Lexie isn’t like that and he should try to understand that.
At least his apology went over better. 😉

I’m sorry the pics didn’t load well. I had trouble with some of them so I’m not sure if all of them will load anyway. I had to reload a couple and then edit.
Yeah…Lexie is all kinds of stubborn and a bit proud. Why else would Charlie feel he had to do things behind her back? But there’s no excuse for dishonesty. Hopefully, he learned his lesson and will move on from here.

Lover WitcHazard : I agree Lexie 1000% that’s make up sec is bomb but the only way I’d give make up sec the # 1 spot for best sex ever is when you make up you actually made a breakthrough in the relationship! Something you both discovered was hurting your relationship in a deeper level that if resolved now could help you over come a future similar outcome! After you did something that makes your love for eachother stronger and makes the relationship more stable only then can Make up sex creep to # 1 but not his time it’s hapoened before and it’s going to be hell when honeymoon phase is over and the rose colored glasses come off cause girl you keep telling Charlie it’s s problem and he ain’t listening using he loves you as an excuse to give him license to keep doing whatever the hell he wants not cool Charlie!

James is the leading man who F things up for himself and now has to watch the leading lady be swept off her feet by the nearly perfect second leading man usually the rival only for all the love he has for the rival has for the leading lady to push her back into the leading man’s arms! I know I should feel bad for Charlie since it’s obvious he ain’t the one for Lexie but I feel like it’s what you said last time! If she goes through with the wedding she’ll stay just because and if they have a kid she’ll definitely stay atleast until that kid turns 18!

And in another episode of, “Are They Bouyant”, Charlie comes up the “biggest loser” being dubbed the K-drama, 2nd man. James, first guy, is on the sidelines, hoping, wishing…and being the dutiful, “friend”.
But…this is D & K, not a rom com K-drama. And there are ten generations. So…what may seem like the K-drama fluff might just go up in flames. You just never know around here.
Gen 6 will be the real ending to Lexie’s gen…but Gen 5 will end how it will end. We shall see! Wonder who’s right? Dark or Lover. Stay tuned! 😉

Yeah, Charlie and Lexie look great together, but something tells me they’re not meant for each other. I keep getting these vibes whenever I see them together. Time will tell!
Also, poor James. There’s still hope for him! *crosses fingers*

Nope nope nope….opposites can make it work but they are just covering it up with intimacy. First Charlie gives all the physical reasons why he loves her a couple chapters back and now Lexie gave superficial reasons at the end of this chapter. They don’t love each other’s personalities or lifestyles. I mean Charlie said he wants her away from James. He manipulated/went behind her back to get her away from James. Hello!!! Relationship red flags!! Lol

Charlie gets what he wants without rocking the boat (he thinks). He should have talked to her about it. But…that’s a huge problem in their relationship. They need to figure out how to communicate.

Although I can see a good intention behind what Charlie did, the consequences of it are too serious to disregard and forgive so easily. Lexie never wanted to be famous. She hates it. And now her face and body are on billboards all over the world. She won’t have any privacy now. I wonder if Charlie did it also for another reason. Now that they are both famous faces, Lexie will have to deal with it. This will turn her life upside down even more.I don’t think she realizes that yet. Most importantly I’m worried that Charlie will get away with anything too easily, because of his “magic touch”. James got kicked and beaten for lies, Charlie gets a makeup sex. Am I the only one who thinks there’s something wrong about it? Charlie convinces us again and again that he does whatever he thinks is best for Lexie, but not what Lexie thinks is best for her.

Double standard? Well, James’ lie was bigger. Let’s be honest. Charlie lied to help plus they’re in a committed relationship.
Charlie needs to start thinking about Lexie first, not what he wants in his controlling way. Hopefully he’ll learn.

IDK, in hindsight James’ lying seems more of a prank to me, but ofc I’m biased. If I understood it correctly, James’ disguise was a means of escape in the first place. Deceiving Lexie wasn’t his initial plan, or was it? He wouldn’t lie to her again. On the other hand, Charlie knew all this and how upset Lexie was about James’ deception and yet he went through with his plan. Regardless his good intentions, he deceived Lexie into believing she managed to find a good job on her own. If nothing else the fact that my boyfriend does not trust my ability to find a job would cause some damage to my confidence were I in Lexie’s shoes. Besides, in most cases secrets are bad for a relationship.

Right…Charlie should know better. James got himself in a bind and didnt know how to get out of it without either hurting Lexie or losing her friendship. Both guys were in the wrong but essentially good guys.
